Microneedling Acupuncture Portland Oregon

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that involves the use of a device with fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This process stimulates the natural healing response, leading to the production of collagen and elastin, two essential proteins that contribute to skin elasticity and firmness. The micro-channels created by the needles during microneedling allow for better penetration of topical skincare products. This can maximize the effectiveness of serums, creams, and other skincare formulations, as they can more easily reach the deeper layers of the skin for months beyond each session.

WHAT DOES A MICRONEEDLING SESSION AT OUR OFFICE INCLUDE?

First, we will go over goals, and your post treatment skin care plan. Then, you will wash your face with a gentle cleanser, and I will apply a lidocaine based numbing cream on your face and neck. If desired, I will add some acupuncture points so that you can deeply relax on the infrared Biomat for 30 minutes while the numbing cream takes effect. Finally, I will clean your face and begin microneedling the entire face and neck while applying pure hyaluronic acid throughout the procedure to achieve maximum hydration. I recommend that everyone continues to use pure hyaluronic acid for 3-7 days as a serum after their microneedling session. The entire session takes about 90 minutes.

Microneedling is a great choice for individuals seeking skin rejuvenation without the risks and downtime associated with more invasive treatments. While some redness and mild swelling may occur after the procedure, these side effects are temporary and will resolve within a week or two, leaving your skin glowing

As with any treatment, the results of microneedling can vary from person to person, and multiple sessions may be needed to achieve optimal outcomes. We recommend 3 sessions, 5-6 weeks apart. When scheduling, it is important to consider that you will want to avoid sun exposure for at least 2 weeks after the treatment and use a high-quality SPF sunscreen between the 3 sessions.  *Microneedling is not recommended during pregnancy, if you are on blood thinners and if your skin is sunburned or having a significant acne breakout.
